Hair Dryer

★★★½☆
Can I say the nothing wakes you up faster in the morning than getting hit in the chin by a retracting hairdryer cord? I found this out during current testing of a new hairdryer which has the latest and greatest technology from Vidal Sasson, including a retractable cord.

It is great for travelling, very easy to store in drawers when you aren’t using it and is ionic, which was essential. The only thing is you do have to be careful when retracting the cord. What is Ionic and why do you want and Ionic hairdryer? The claim is that they dry hair in up to half the time of conventional professional hairdryers. Create a shinier and more protected finish in less time and with no static. It is also claimed to help repair chemically treated dry or badly damaged hair.

So with all this in mind, what do I think? Well the product is still in the evaluation stage and I will update you in a few months time. But so far so good. Given that my last hairdryer cost three times as much and had none of the features this one has, it looks promising, plus its Ionic!

The drier is readily available from Farmers stores, so that’s also a big plus.

I do like the retractable cord, it is neat and tidy to store and travel with. Once you master the viciousness with how the cord retracts, you will be fine.

Hot tip when retracting the cord, hold the dryer in one hand and the cord in the other so when it goes back in it won’t hit you in the chin like it did to me.

So stay tuned for an update in a few months.

CosmeticsHands up who’s guilty of buying products only to put them into the cupboard and forget you actually bought them. Well the good news is that contrary to what you read, they don’t go off quite as fast as you would think.

Double

½☆☆☆☆
We have to get smarter, when presented with a deal that seems to good to be true, usually it is too good to be true.

I picked up this Double Extension Ultra-Lengthening Mascara the other day because they were offering two for the price of one. A great deal. A hard to pass up deal.

So I bought it because, for me, there is a huge amount of value in being able to have two for the price of one. I keep one in my handbag and one in my gym bag so I don’t have to keep remembering to take my make-up purse into the gym. I know some of you are saying, oh how can that be a big deal. But when you have all the things I have to remember in the morning, you too would want to simplify your life.

Everything need to be in it’s place, I am very busy.

So, I have been using it for about a month now and it certainly doesn’t live up to it’s famous claims. No it doesn’t lengthen my lashes and really it should because it takes about 6 coats before you can see and mascara at all. You have to apply the base coat which is designed to coat your lashes and thicken them up, then you apply the top coat.

I find by the end of the day I have no mascara left or it doesn’t look like it and certainly not compared to my old mascara I used to use.

So really what might have seemed a great deal at the time has really turned out to be a waste of time and money. I was definitely blinded by the buy this and get one free deal.

So worry though I am already trying out a new one. Will keep you posted how I get on.

hot tip always take this mascara off at night. Even after using a cleanser in the morning, you will still look like something out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It isn’t pretty.
